Wireless Hacking Contest In Omaha

I got notice that there is going to be a wireless hacking contest in Omaha here this Friday. It sounds pretty interesting, I might try to make it if I can.

Omaha 2600 is proud to announce it’s first wireless hacking competition! Come to the Westroads Mall Food Court at 10000 California St (basically 100th & Dodge) at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2009 to pit your skills against two encrypted wireless networks. One network will be a 64-bit WEP encrypted network and the other will be a 128-bit WEP encrypted network. The first 14 people to crack the password to both networks get a custom DEFCON 17 Riviera room key card and a burned copy of the DEFCON 17 CD!

Questions to answer:

What is the encryption key to access the 64-bit network?

What is the encryption key to access the 128-bit network?

What is the IP address of the server?

What OS and services are running on the server?

Bonus: What is the root password of the server?

Rules:

- The contest will begin at 7 PM and end at 9 PM or when security asks us to leave.

- If security asks us to leave, we will leave quickly and quietly without fuss.

- No attacking or scanning contestant DHCP IP addresses in the range of 10.10.10.11-10.10.10.254.

- No attacking or scanning other wireless access points in the mall.

- No exploiting or modifying the server. Please leave it for others to find and explore.

- No denial of service attacks. What’s the fun in that?

- The 64-bit network will be on channel 6 with an SSID of Omaha2600-64

- The 128-bit network will be on channel 1 with an SSID of Omaha2600-128

- Bring a power strip and an extension cord if you need power.

- Buy something in the food court or something from the mall to support our local businesses. We want don’t want to be mooches!
