After last weeks launch of the Social Engineer site, yesterday was the launch of another project that has been taking up a lot of my time.
The Metasploit Unleashed course, which is starting with free training for the Metasploit Framework, has gone live. This course is here not only to provide free training for Metasploit, but also to help drive support for Hackers For Charity.
And, all I have to say is: Thank You.
Working on this project has been a wonderful experience. When muts first asked if I would like to help, I honestly had no idea how much work it would be, but if I had it to do over again I would in a heartbeat. By generating material, doing the research, testing things out, I learned much more about the internals of MSF then I ever would have any other way.
So to muts: Thank You.
When other work started eating away time, and muts started bring in other people, it got even better. He must have just as much nose for finding talent as he does exploits, because everyone that assisted was top notch to work with. The last few weeks, whenever I would find something to do on it, it would be done before I could start. People worked their butts off on this.
So to everyone that worked on this: Thank You.
And, thanks to HD Moore for all the assistance. The help HD provided was solid, down to committing changes to SVN late at night when we ran into problems.
So to HD: Thank You.
Then yesterday when it went live, the response online has been great. Many people are talking about the course, telling others about it, complementing the material. Supporting the cause.
So to the community: Thank You.
And this is just the first step. After version 3.3 of MSF goes final, will come paid videos and a certification challenge. This part won’t be free, but even better: Money to pay for the paid portion is going to Hackers For Charity. So not only will you be able to have access to the extra material and a certification, but you will be supporting a good cause.
Big couple of weeks. It has been very exciting.
And next, is time to get ready for the Social Engineer newsletter and podcast…
